Accounting - A.A.S. Degree

This degree repares students for careers in the accounting profession, such as auditor, controller, CPA, financial analyst, bookkeeper, payroll clerk and accounts payable/receivables clerk.  Accountants help individuals and business manage their money by setting up and maintaining accounting systems, preparing budgets, studying company operations, performing audits and preparing government forms.  They help create and administer business and management plans and control company activities.

The Accounting Associates of Applied Science Degree is awarded for successful completion of at least 61 credit hours.  Students desiring a less comprehensive program should consider an Accounting or Professional Bookkeeper Certificate plan listed on the Certificate page.

The general education core courses and several individual accounting courses will transfer to a variety of universities.  Contact a counselor or advisor at any college for specific transfer information and to obtain the recommended sequencing of courses.

While fulfilling requirements for an Accounting Degree students can also obtain Accounting Certificates.
